A successful television actor relocates
to New York, where he rents a marvelous gothic
apartment. With his television career in limbo, the actor is
offered the opportunity to play Hamlet onstage, but there’s one
problem: He hates Hamlet. His quandary deepens with the entrance
of John Barrymore’s ghost, who arrives intoxicated and in full
costume, to the apartment that once was his. The contrast
between the two actors, the towering, dissipated Barrymore whose
Hamlet was the greatest of his time, and Andrew Rally, hot young
television star, leads to a wildly funny duel over women, art,
success, duty, television, and yes, the apartment! Contains
adult subject matter; parental discretion is advised.
Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of
Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has
accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need
of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to
raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the
school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade
production of “Grease.” Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina, a
former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of
Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne;
Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the
delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory
when a crucifix fell on her head. Winner of four Outer
Critics Circle Awards, Nunsense features star turns, tap and ballet
dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become
an international phenomenon. Join us as we get in the habit of
laughing with the Little Sisters of Hoboken.
A 19-year-old man has just stood trial
for the fatal stabbing of his father and it looks like an
open-and-shut case—until one of the jurors begins challenging
the others. Tempers get short and arguments grow heated. Life is
in their hands as these jurors are forced to look past their
prejudices to unearth the shocking truth. Reginald Rose’s
electrifying classic explodes like twelve sticks of dynamite in
one of the finest, most powerful dramas of all-time.
From the creators of Cabaret and Chicago
comes the musical whodunit Curtains! It’s Boston 1959 and chief
sleuth Lieutenant Frank Cioffi investigates the murder of a
Broadway-bound theater company’s tremendously untalented star on
opening night. Could the culprit be the hard-edged lady
producer? One of the recently divorced songwriting team? The
egomaniacal British director? The seemingly sweet ingénue?
Played against the fictional cowboy musical Robbin’ Hood!,
Curtains will have you on the edge of your seat … laughing!
